“Our bodies are our gardens to which our wills are gardeners”.
You got that right, Shakespeare!
When it comes to food, I’ve always struggled with willpower.
Four chapattis instead of two.
Five Cadbury’s Mini Rolls instead of one.
A whole big bag of Haribos rather than just a handful.
A whole packet of biscuits.
Don’t forget the chocolate spread incident.
When I tell you I’m having a bad week in terms of nutrition, it’s THAT bad usually. The last three weeks have pretty much been terrible – the odd good day here and there but 90% of the time, I’ve gone way over the daily recommended calorie intake and the sugar, carbs and saturated fat macros.
Last week, I could feel myself itching to get back to good habits after realising I’d fallen off the wagon. The two weeks before that, I honestly didn’t care.
Last night, as I was getting into bed, I told myself the following three times:
“Tomorrow’s a new day. You’re going to get up early, have a good workout and you’re going to eat healthily.”
I’ve woken up this morning with that same fresh determination to get back on it. I’ve had a great cardio session to kickstart the day. I’ve already inputted my data into MyFitnessPal of the day’s breakfast, dinner and snacks so I know what I have to play with for lunch!
Let’s hope I stick to it today and set precedent for the week ahead!
